San Jose Sharks NHL Draft Night at
SAP Center
The Sharks hosted a free NHL Draft night for fans and future fans at SAP Center which included bobblehead giveaways, merchandise sales, shark riding, cornhole and a live stream of the 2023 draft. The organization’s goal went past entertainment: they wanted accurate first-party fan data, gathered without a clipboard at the door.
We ran two experiences. The first rewarded merchandise buyers with a printed photo in front of a shark-teeth backdrop, complete with life-size cutouts of General Manager Mike Grier and Head Coach David Quinn and a custom number 23 jersey to hold up. The second, a non-printing digital booth staged with San Jose Sharks legend Patrick Marleau’s retired jersey which drew the longest line of the night.
Both experiences delivered content digitally after a photo release and marketing opt-in, which is why the data held up: fans entered their real email and phone number because that’s where the photo was going. The Sharks left with a segmented, accurate list they could market ticket packages, merchandise and future events against.

How Much Space and Power Does the Booth Need?
An Open Air Booth, Glam Booth or AI booth needs roughly a 10×10 ft footprint. Whereas the 360 Video Booth, Vogue Booth or a Trading Card Station needs about 12×12 ft with clear overhead space for guests standing on the platform. Roaming photography and confessional video booths are the most flexible.

How Long Does Setup Take at a San Jose Venue?

How Far in Advance Should We Book a San Jose Event?
